Dear Parents,

THANK YOU for your commitment to St. John-Sacred Heart Catholic School, enabling students and staff
to return to school. We also thank you for supporting the additional safety and health procedures we
have implemented. Research has proven students learn more effectively and retain their knowledge
longer when it happens within the classroom. Our # 1 goal is to remain on-site as long as our students
and staff remain healthy and safe.

With the addition of virtual learning, we need to inform parents of new attendance terms and

  • On-site Learning Present

Student comes to school daily for instruction.

  • On-site Learning Absent

       Student is ill.
He/she is marked absent and has 1 day (for each day of absence), to make up missed

  • Quarantined

Student unable to report to school because of a contact with someone testing positive.
Quarantined student is expected to do virtual learning the duration of their quarantine.

  • Remote Learning Present

Student is logged on, engaged and completing assignments on time.

  • Remote Learning Absent

Student not logged on, engaged or completing assignments.

As we monitor our school situation, we are consulting with the Calumet County Nurse, superintendent
of Green Bay Diocesan Catholic Schools, Fr. Mike and Diane Wickersheim, our pastoral associate &
school board president to determine when and if we need to switch from on-site learning to virtual
learning. In that case, students will be given and follow a learning schedule similar to their daily on-site
schedule which includes meeting with their teacher/s throughout each day. Each teacher will share
further information appropriate to the grade/subject they are teaching.

As always, please contact school with questions and/or concerns. Please pray for the well-being of all
and an end to the virus.

Mrs. Behnke
